Barcelona Explorer Pass is an attraction-based pass operated by Go City. Since both the Barcelona Pass and this Explorer Pass are from Go City, you can imagine the attractions are similar.
How does the Barcelona Explorer Pass Work?
Since the Explorer Pass is an attraction based pass, you have to decide how many attractions you want to pre-purchase. Once you pay for the pass (let’s say 4 attractions), then you can pick any of the 4 attractions offered by the pass to visit.
The Explorer Pass offers 2 – 7 attractions for purchase.
You have 60 days to use the pass after you activate the pass, which is when you enter your first attraction.

You can save money with a Barcelona attraction pass if you plan your trip correctly. But are you guaranteed to save money? No, unless you have a plan.
Pick the most expensive attraction
This should be a no-brainer. You are not spending hundreds of Euros on a Barcelona tourist pass just to use it to enter a €10 attraction. You make the most out of your savings by going to the most expensive attractions.
I pretty much listed the prices of the most popular attractions in this post. Study it, verify it, then use your pass on those.
Go to at least 3 attractions a day with the all-inclusive pass
If you do one or two attractions a day with an all inclusive pass, you are not saving any money, sorry. The best way to save on all inclusive passes is to enter as many attractions and museums as you can and pick the most expensive ones.
The more times you scan that pass, the more money you are saving. The more the merrier.
Utilize the hop on hop off bus with the all-inclusive pass
Unlike New York City where the subway is faster than anything above ground, Barcelona actually works out with hop on hop off buses. Yes you can take the metro but a lot of times you have to transfer to a bus or another train and then walk.
I love hop on hop off buses where I can just sit, relax, and see the view from the top of the bus. You can’t do that with a metro!
Plan your route with Google Maps
Use Google Maps to bookmark all the attractions you are interested in and group them by location. Visit the ones closest to each other so you can save time on commuting, which allows you to see more with an all-inclusive pass and save more.
The more days/ attractions you buy, the more you can save
This may sound counter-intuitive but hear me out here.
If you buy a 2 day all inclusive pass, your average cost per day is higher than if you buy a 5 day all inclusive pass.
Here is an example with the Barcelona Pass.
A 2 day Barcelona Pass for an adult costs €129, which is equal to €65 per day. A 5 day Barcelona Pass for an adult costs €206, which is equivalent to €41 a day.
With €65 a day, you really need to pack your itinerary with at least 3 or 4 things each day. But with €41 a day, you can just do 2 to 3 things a day and get your money’s worth.
